TUFF TRUCK CHALLENGE OFFICIAL RULES Competition: A. Driver must be at least 18 years old. Driver must have a valid state drivers license. Each vehicle may only be entered into a competition 1 time per event. Each driver may enter only 1 time per class. B. All contestants / pit crew at every event must sign a waiver understanding that they are participating at their own risk and that they will not bring suit against any officials, employees, event sponsors, promoter, and/or property owner. By signing the release form you agree to all rules set forth. C. ASF officials reserve the right to approve or reject any or all entry applications. D. All vehicles must pass tech inspection before competing. This includes passing a sound test with a maximum decibel output of 100db. If presiding officials determine a vehicle is unsafe or does not pass sound requirements, officials have the right to not allow vehicle to compete. Vehicle does not need current inspection sticker, license or insurance. E. All drivers must attend driver's meeting approximately 1 hour before event starts. F. A vehicle cannot be registered after driver's meeting unless approved by track official. G. A contestant may be disqualified for either emotional or physical reasons by Competition Director or track officials. Any driver or any of his or her pit crew consuming an intoxicating agents, and / or drugs, prior to or during the event will be disqualified from the event. Drivers will be held responsible for the actions of their crew. H. If any vehicle and / or driver is disqualified for any reason, no refund of entry fee or pit fee. I. Competition vehicles must be operated in a safe manner at all times within the confines of the track, pit area, and staging areas. Track officials have the right to stop and disqualify any vehicle being operated in a reckless manner. Pit and staging areas speed limit is 5 M.P.H. J. Competitor must wait for Flag from Starting Flagman before starting the run. Competitor must stop immediately upon signal of Red Flag from Flagman. K. Only the driver will be allowed in a vehicle when it is being towed or driven in the pit area, staging area, or track. No riders in or an vehicle while in the pit area, staging area, or track, to include tow vehicles, competing vehicles, tow back and maintenance equipment of any kind. L. When Competition vehicle's engine is running, a competent driver must be in the driver's seat. No exceptions, Automatic disqualification. M. Track officials will have the option to check competitors for rule violations at any time during the event. N. All contestants must drive vehicle onto track and into position to compete under its own power and must leave track under its own power unless for breakage. O. No one allowed on the track except for track officials and contestants. Track is defined as the area within 15' in any direction of the contest boundaries, including the runoff area at the finish end of the track. All vehicles must be equipped with a 2 ½ lb. dry chemical fire extinguisher or 1lb. halon extinguisher. Extinguisher must be fully charged, in working condition, and secured convenient to driver. B. A maximum of 15% setback on motor of wheel base from front most machined part of engine black to center of front axel. C. Maximum wheel travel of 14". D. All vehicles must have a 4-wheel hydraulic brake system in good working condition. No individual wheel brakes allowed. E. All vehicles must have a 6 point roll cage, with two (2) horizontal door bars, fastened securely to the frame. F. Driver must wear D.O.T. approved, Snell 05 rated helmet. Helmet strap must be fastened. Driver must wear a full, single layer, fire retardant suit to include jacket and pants. Fire shoes recommended but a minimum of full cover leather footwear required. Neck collar mandatory during all competition. G. All vehicles are required to be equipped with a 5pt seatbelt harness with no noticeable wear. H. Tires must have D.O.T. approved number. Maximum tire height is 49 inches. Cutting of tire tread is allowed. I. All vehicles will have a properly working kiss switch located on the rear of the vehicle. J. No loose objects in cab or any place else in vehicle. Any ballast must be securely mounted. K. Lead Tech Inspector has final decisions on legality of each vehicle. L. Verbal or physical abuse towards any track official will result in automatic disqualification. M. Contest will be governed by track officials and Competition Director with all decisions final. N. The Promoter or Competition Director reserves the right to change any safety rules if they feel it is necessary. * The rules and / or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of competition events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have compiled with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND / OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The event director shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.
UPDATE..... Fire suits are not required but are recommended, please wear a minimum of full length jacket, pants, over the ankle boots, snell '00 or better full faced helmet or helmet and goggles and gloves. All trucks will go through a pre race inspection, please have the trucks at the track early for inspection as 30 minutes prior to the race inspections will be closed. Any trucks not inspected or that did not pass inspection will not be allowed to race. So please be there early enough to make any repairs needed after inspection and still have time for a re-inspection if need. We will be running a stock and modified class and it will be run in a stadium truck race format. Registration fee for Tuff Truck is $50. This price includes one pit pass for a mechanic.
